my comp paper! Urgh!
incremental infrastructure, and here is more recent reference/use of the term ! It is a great concept that i think is perfect with a learning by doing environment, particularly for community communication infrastructures!

I hope you wouldn’t talk about it as an actual thing. It’s a descriptive term that - afaik - one person created and although Ethan’s a wicked smart guy with loads of experience in ICT4D, people shouldn’t confuse a neologism with an “accepted” word that has a tested currency. It’s dangerous and confusing. If you refer to it, it should be clear to the reader that it’s a new term worthy of it’s own criticism - as are many of the other terms that we create and then throw around.
I just mention this because changing discourse without referencing the change is a tool that the other side uses a lot, and we should seek to be aware of it as opposed to employing the tactic.
